Web-Based Reporting
PPI unveils its new Web-Based reporting system. This new reporting system allows PPI clients to view Quality Assurance and EVI data via the web. This type of vehicle provides PPI clients with a tool to collect performance information on their suppliers of equipment and services. Notwithstanding, it can assist in the evaluation, pre-qualification process on bid tenders while developing performance models through actual trend analysis. The client has access to real time status reports on all inspections that can identify potential problems before “non-productive time” is incurred.
PPI Nigeria
PPIN has a new Managing Director for its West Africa Operations. Mr. Kent Schwartz joined PPI in September 2004 and will be responsible for business development and daily operations in Nigeria and the surrounding the area.
PPI Nigeria was established in 1998 with the legal registration for PPI Technology Services Nigeria Ltd. in September 24, 2001. Since that time the company has grown significantly and has offices in Lagos, and Port Harcourt. Currently there are 15 rotational expatriates and 16 local employees working for PPI Nigeria with plans to add more in the upcoming months. PPI Nigeria is presently supplying project management services for an (11) eleven well sub-sea development offshore Nigeria for Addax Petroleum Nigeria. PPI is also currently providing services to Mobil Producing Nigeria and SNEPCO.
Most recently, PPI Nigeria has been contracted to supply QA training to a number of indigenous pipe inspection firms in Nigeria. We are hopeful that our training program can be expanded to include Oil and Gas operators. Initial discussions have been positive.
PPI Japan
PPI has had an established office in Wakayama, Japan since 1992. The business climate for tubular inspection has been good and has experienced significant growth this year. PPI has grown its work force to thirteen (13) Quality Assurance Inspectors working in various mills manufacturing OCTG and 5L products such as Sumitomo, NKK, JFE and others. PPI’s clients have benefited from the presence of local inspectors and have realized the value of not incurring the expense of having to send ex-pats to manage their Quality Assurance needs. Logistically, the PPI office in Japan and its close proximity to China, S. Korea and other Southeast Asia countries makes it services attractive to clients worldwide.
